Aloha Pūʻōhala School ʻOhana! First, let me thank all those that were able to join us for the Meet and Greet with Po'okumu Ikaika Plunkett last night. There was important information required of us to share with our parent community and of course the introduction of our newly selected Principal/Po'okumu, Mr. Plunkett. If you missed this event, there will be a recording of it uploaded to our website in the next few days. Continue to check our website for updates and announcements at Puohala.weebly.com Second, here are important updates for next week: 1) NO FACE TO FACE WITH STUDENTS ON CAMPUS DURING AUG.17 - 20. Please disregard the August 12th communication. We will proceed with pick-up of technology devices and classroom materials prepared by your kumu/teachers without leaving your vehicles. Continue to follow your scheduled rotation days to help us manage the flow of ohana. If you had spoken to Po'okumu about distance learning 100%, you'll still be honored at the times shared with you of Wed/Thurs., 9:00 - 1:00 p.m. Hui Mauka (M/W) = come MONDAY 10:30 - 2:00 PM Hui Makai (T/Th) = come TUESDAY 10:30 - 2:00 PM It would help us immensely to try to stick to this schedule, however, we realize that your schedules may not be so flexible. We will not turn anyone away. HOW WILL IT LOOK? We are asking you to use your mobile device and let us know you are in the front parking lot. (Kind of like when you order pizza now and call them to say you're outside!) When you do this, we can get your things ready and have you head down the firelane for pick-up. This will be posted on campus as you approach! Trying to keep up with technology! 2) FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH FOR OUR STUDENTS! Our students have access to one free breakfast and one free lunch daily. If they grab a second meal, it will be charged to their name. There is no opening of meal containers on campus. Meal helpers will pass meals to the driver or front passenger only. Any Hawai'i DOE students may pick up a meal at our school. Please note for non-Pūʻōhala students, their lunch payment status carries over from the previous year for a couple of weeks only. You must complete another Lunch Application annually. Even though our students receive free meals this year, we encourage you to still complete the Lunch application or EZMealApp. TIMES FOR MEAL GRAB-N-GO: (These times were set-up with the blended rotation in mind. The later times were meant for students not on campus for their rotation day and also all 100% Distance Learners) BREAKFAST: 7:20 - 7:45 & 8:00 - 8:20 LUNCH 10:45 - 11:30 & 11:30 - 11:50am (Updated as of August 15, 2020) We also need your help to prepare the correct amount of meals. Please fill out the below survey and submit by midnight, Sunday, Aug.16th. https://forms.gle/9N9gnvDW8RSiZ1qX6 These are uncertain times and we care tremendously for our students and their ohana. It really does tug on the hearts of our staff to not have our students here but we know that staying safe now means for sure seeing them and you healthy in the future. Mahalo and can't wait to see you next week at the pick-up times! Pūʻōhala Administration
