Happy New Year Pūʻōhala School ʻOhana,
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and administration, I would like to thank you for your continued support of our students and school. As we are on the eve of the new year, I wanted to share a quote, “Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, my friend, anyone can start from now and make a brand new end.” - C. Bard. We are at the halfway point of School Year 2020-2021, and we have already faced many challenges, some we have overcome and others we will yet overcome. I encourage everyone to be resilient by adapting to adverse situations, apply lessons learned, have a positive attitude, and take steps towards success. I hope we can give people second chances, learn from otherʻs success and setbacks, right a wrong, identify with a positive role model, find the silver lining in all situations, and be flexible. Reminders: Tuesday, January 5, 2021, through Friday, January 8, 2021, will be 100% Distance Learning for all students.
Monday, January 4, 2021, NO SCHOOL for students - Teacher Work Day Hauʻoli makahiki hou. Pūʻōhala School empowers students by developing strong foundations of ʻike kupuna, positive relationships, and lifelong learning.

Vision: “Ke Kula Kaiapuni 'O Pūʻōhala School is a place where students can think critically through their observations of their culture and community, show respect for past, present, and future knowledge, have respectful values, and promote positive relationships to become powerful agents of change to better our world.”
On behalf of the Pūʻōhala School Faculty & Staff, I would like to wish everyone a “Happy Winter Break” and thank you for working with us since August to keep everyone on campus safe and we invite you to continue to work with us as we transition into the New Year. This message’s primary purpose is to inform our students and ʻohana of a decision that I, Poʻokumu Ikaika, have made regarding school resuming in January 2021. I want to get this information out to families early so everyone can make arrangements for next year. Tuesday, January 5, 2021, through Friday, January 8, 2021, will be 100% Distance Learning for all students

FIRST: We have been given the opportunity to take school pictures! This has been a year like no other and we want to keep the traditions of school pictures that help mark milestones in your child's life. For all students who come to school for in-person instruction, it will be tomorrow, Dec.15 and Wednesday, Dec.16 in our cafeteria. There will be no class picture at this time. We will attempt that in spring, 2021 when more of our students can join us. There will be no collection of money this week. You will be making all your picture purchases online with Portraits of Hawaii directly. Your child's pictures should be ready for viewing online next week. See the attached flier. picture taking flyer.jpg For all students who do not attend in-person classes, please call the studio directly to visit their studio in Kane'ohe: Portraits of Hawaii 236-0063.
