Aloha,
Representatives Lisa Kitagawa and Scot Matayoshi are sponsoring a Windward Community Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on Saturday, September 10th from 9 am – 12 noon at Windward Community College. Times Pharmacy will be administering the flu shots to anyone 3 years and older, and all major insurance carriers will be accepted. Please bring your insurance card for everyone getting a shot and a photo ID. Kupuna high dose shots will also be available for seniors 65 and older at this clinic. Wearing a mask is encouraged. We encourage you to attend the drive-thru flu shot clinic if you’d like to get a flu vaccine for yourself and/or your children. The flu shot is also available at your doctor’s office or at participating pharmacies, however, if you do not feel comfortable going into those locations, this drive-thru flu shot clinic provides you with a safe and easy alternative. Please see the flyer for more information. To help the process go smoother, we encourage you to complete the registration paperwork ahead of time by visiting the following website: bit.ly/3Qzqiay. You can also visit RepKitagawa.com to download the flu vaccination consent form and pre-screening form. We will also have forms available for you to fill out on the day of the event. Prevent Flu This Fall and Winter It's likely that the flu virus and COVID-19 will both spread this fall and winter. Healthcare systems continue to feel the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Getting your flu shot is an easy and safe way to take some of the burden off our hospitals and medical personnel. While getting a flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19, there are many important benefits, such as: 1) flu vaccines have been shown to reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization, and death, and 2) getting a flu vaccine can also save healthcare resources for the care of patients with COVID-19 or other emergency health needs. Additional Insurance Information Times Pharmacy contracts with all major insurance providers (HMA, HMAA, HMSA, Kaiser, UHA, TRICARE, PSWA, Hawaii Laborers Union, Medicare and Quest). Most insurance providers cover the cost of the flu vaccine completely with $0 copay. There are some cases where the vaccine wouldn't be covered 100%. Union insurances have a small copay of the total cost of the flu vaccine. Times will invoice the clinic participant if they do have a copay. If the clinic participant's insurance does not cover the flu vaccine, the cash price for the regular vaccine is $55 and $75 for the high dose vaccine. Times will be providing both the regular flu vaccine and a kupuna high dose vaccine for people 65 years of age and older at this clinic. |
